DR1 will integrate key public and private stakeholders providing the leadership and strategic planning to create an economic and workforce engine in Central Pennsylvania leveraging the opportunities within the autonomous vehicle industries.
DR1 synchronizes private industry, academic institutions and public entities to form a team of specialized experts combining operational, technical and business develoment prowess to spur innovation driven by the autonomous vehicles and advance manufacturing revolutions.
DR1 is developing the infrastructure required to establish Central Pennsylvania as a leader in autonomous technology supporting training, research and development and workforce advancement.
DR1 Group is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization established for the purpose of utilizing unmanned technology to promote education, workforce development, scientific research and public safety.
WHAT WE DO
In a collaborative effort with our world-class partners from industry, academia, economic development organizations and local government, DR1 Group is a joint development partnership responsible for the development and overall management of the Keystone Aviation Training Site (KATS).
WHO WE ARE
The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from Industry Partners, Universities, local Economic Development Companies, local government and several other entities who are instrumental in the promotion of KATS and the unmanned industry in Pennsylvania.
The Governing Board of DR1 Group includes representatives from local municipalities agencies, academia and private industry in the fields of aeronautics, robotics, government, education and manufacturing.
WHY WE DO IT
One of the country’s biggest challenges promoting and growing talent in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fueled industries. The primary goal of DR1 Group is to establish a roadmap with the goal of helping the next generation of Americans succeed.
With stakeholders from academia, industry, and local government all working together towards a common goal, Pennsylvania has the opportunity to leverage the unmanned industry to enhance public safety, but also to revitalize State workforce development efforts. By transforming ‘high-potential, low-resource’ students into the highly skilled STEM-trained talent, Pennsylvania can create a workforce from within, which the nation so desperately needs.
